On receiving his award, Professor Zhuang said: “I am very touched to receive this award - it is a great honour for me.
Computational Mechanics at Swansea University enjoys great prestige around the world and I am very proud to have worked with colleagues at Swansea and to have taken this knowledge back to China.
Today, science and technology develops at top speed and new innovations are happening every day. We are stronger if we work together which is why it is important that Tsinghua and Swansea continue to collaborate, for example on our biennial workshop on computational mechanics. As a professor at Tsinghua University and now, Honorary Awardee of Swansea University, I will continue to promote our joint academic research, and hope to raise the profile of computational mechanics worldwide.”
