An initial phase of this work is the Swansea University Clinical Innovation Partnerships (SUCIP), a Welsh Government funded initiative designed to support initial development for clinically-relevant innovations.

Applications for SUCIP funding are invited from academics at Swansea University as well as staff based in any Welsh Health Board or NHS Trust.

Following this preliminary screening, short-listed projects will be independently validated by a Commercial Panel composed of highly experienced venture capital fund managers and IP experts.

The basis for final selection of the successful projects will be will be the commercial potential of the underlying innovation as well as the potential impact on healthcare in Wales.  These aspects will be judged by the Commercial Panel, whose decision is final.
