Students and Graduates

What is an IT Wales work placement?

IT Wales placementsIT Wales has been running the placement programme in partnership with Go Wales, throughout Wales, since 1993.  We offered students and graduates the chance to gain paid, project-based IT work experience across Wales. Our placements were proven to make candidates more employable. 65% of placements resulted in permanent or extended employment with the host company (Go Wales statistics 2011).

As planned, the current GO Wales project finished at the end of 2014 so we are winding down our activities. We hope to make applications for European Structural Funding for a new phase of GO Wales in 2015. We will make more information available when we are able to.

Who can take part in an IT Wales placement?

Graduates living in Wales are also eligible, but citizens of non-EU / EAA countries are required to have been granted a Visa (which is not a student visa) that gives the right to stay in the UK, take up full time employment, and has at least 6 months remaining on the Visa.
