Find out more about studying a subject at university

Swansea University is committed to ensuring that as many people as possible have the opportunity to participate in higher education, regardless of their background.

To give pupils a real sense of what it is like to study at degree level, we have put together a range of ‘subject guides’.  Each guide covers a different subject and includes details such as:

  • Is the course right for me?
  • Are all degrees the same?
  • How will I spend my time?
  • What can I get from a degree?
  • What are the career prospects?

The guides discuss common university terminology including lectures, seminars, tutorials and societies.  Some also have a student’s story about studying a particular subject at Swansea University.  You may also wish to look at Swansea University's A-Z undergraduate course guide.
