Timothy Radcliffe OP

Timothy Radcliffe O.P. is one of the most widely admired and highly respected exponents of the Christian faith in the world today.  As a result of this, his diary is full of speaking engagements, with commitments right across the world for years in advance.  He is a Catholic Priest and a Dominican Friar of the English Province.  He is a former Master of the Order of Preachers (1992-2001) and the only member of the English Province of the Dominicans to have held that distinguished office since the Order's foundation in 1216.

He is based at Blackfriars in Oxford, but spends two thirds of the year travelling, when he also devotes a large part of his time to preaching and teaching the Christian faith.  He has served as Chancellor of the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Santo Tomas in Manila, the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem and the Theology Faculty in Fribourg.  He is an Honorary Fellow of St John's College Oxford and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity in 2003 by Oxford University.

He's the author of several best selling religious books including Sing a New Song, I Call You Friends, Seven Last Words, and What is the point of being a Christian? He was awarded the Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing in 2007. Another of his exciting and challenging books, Why go to church? came out in December 2008 to widespread acclaim.  His latest publication is entitled Take the Plunge: Living Baptism and Confirmation.
