If you’ve ever fancied taking part in The Apprentice but didn’t want to face a certain Lord – then don’t worry Swansea University is offering students a chance to join their Apprentice programme and they have until the 7 May to apply.
Postgraduate students across the nation are being invited to take part in a world-leading and unique programme which offers a fully-funded opportunity to compete in a team event modelled on the BBC TV series ‘The Apprentice’.
Students will tackle specific challenges associated with Cu@Swansea, an exciting, heritage-led regeneration project focused on the site of the former Hafod-Morfa Copperworks in the Lower Swansea Valley. This multi-partner project is led by Professor Huw Bowen of the Department of History and Classics at Swansea University. For further information on the Cu@Swansea project go to: www.welshcopper.org.uk.
Teams will be assigned tasks by a panel of experts drawn from the worlds of academia, heritage, business, and tourism; and the winning team will be ‘hired’ to undertake a two-week work placement with Professor Bowen.
Expertise and mentoring will be provided by representatives from distinguished heritage and professional organisations as well as Swansea-based academics. The programme offers opportunities to bolster employability credentials and gain the transferable skills and experience currently in demand in the heritage and tourism sectors. ‘The Heritage Apprentice’ will run from 3-7June 2013.
‘The Heritage Apprentice’ forms part of the AHRC-funded Heritage Skills Programme and is hosted by the Swansea University Graduate Centre for Arts and Humanities.
To apply candidates should submit a two-page CV and a 250-word summary telling us why you are the right candidate for the programme to Kate Spiller, Project Co-ordinator: email@example.com
Postgraduates across all disciplines are invited to apply. Deadline for applications: 12.00 noon on 7 May 2013
