Master’s students from Swansea University’s Business School were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Lloyd’s of London, the world's leading insurance market located in the heart of the City.
Students on the MSc Finance and MSc International Banking and Finance got a first-hand opportunity to see how the real market operates, take a tour of the iconic Lloyd’s building, and attend presentations focusing on the different aspects of practical market operations.
Dr Maggie Chen, Lecturer in Finance at the Business School said: “I am delighted that Lloyd’s of London offered this opportunity to our students. Our MSc courses are designed to fast-track students into careers in the financial sector and this experience is invaluable in enhancing their job prospects in the current economic climate.”
The visit was arranged in conjunction with IMC (London), which sponsors two of the Business School’s specialist finance MSc modules and which recently awarded Insurance Market Conferences prizes to two of the School’s top master’s students.
