The next in the series of free community lectures organised by Swansea University’s Department of Adult Continuing Education (DACE) takes place on Thursday, November 14.

Lecture summary: This unlikely couple appeared on the literary scene at exactly the same time and competed for the same Regency women readers.  Both are still well read today and remembered as icons of romantic love. What did they think of each other? How did they represent marriage, women and sexuality?
