LGBT History Month: February 2016

Celebrated in the UK in February, and founded by the charity Schools OUT, the aim of the month is to celebrate the lives and achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from our past and present.

LGBT History Month ‌Swansea University's LGBT+ Staff Network are recognising LGBT History Month by hosting a range of free events, which are open to all staff, students and visitors. 

 

 

  • Film Screening of Grandma: Monday 1 February, 7.30pm, Taliesin Arts Centre. 
  • Information stall and exhibit: Tuesday, 16 February, 12pm – 2.30pm, Fulton House foyer.
  • Annual Equal Opportunities Lecture, featuring keynote speaker Lee Gale, TransBareAll: Wednesday 17th February, 12.30pm – 2pm, Council Chamber, Singleton Abbey.
  • The LGBT+ Staff Network are also be hosting a blog series on throughout February, exploring the history of people who are LGBT+ and the various movements and organisations associated with LGBT history.
